Media Training – Making the media work for you

As we continue the move towards a multi media broadcast universe and via the internet a globally visual communications revolution, the need to communicate effectively has never been more vital to an organisation’s success. At Daisy Media Training, this need is accommodated in a user friendly, practical and expert manner – satisfying all the media needs for your most important people.

During the training sessions Giles McMullen gives a valuable opportunity to each delegate by recreating an authentic broadcast set-up featuring a television and radio environment and by going through the interview process several times. Each time, on playback, delegates are encouraged to help in examining their own performance and impact. Simple tips on improving style and delivery will result in top quality interview techniques by the end of the day.

The sessions will demonstrate essential skills on how to ensure your message gets across and in the way you want it to.

The seminar tutor will be based in one location at your company throughout the day. There will be up to six sessions available (time is split according to the eventual number of delegates you put forward) benefiting up to six delegates with intensive one on one training sessions. Their performance, appearance, effect and style of delivery will be examined and dramatically improved.

Delegates will also have a go at ‘down the line interviews’, one of the most difficult aspects of television presentation where they will speak directly into the camera lens answering questions from a ‘remote studio’.

Fully armed after our media training session, your delegates will be able to represent your organisation confidently and knowingly in any television or interview situation, boosting your image, promoting your product and enhancing your status.

The sessions will also include vital tips on

* Clothing
* Personal image
* Creating ideal soundbites
* Facial expression
* Body language
* Remote interviews
* Studio and location skills
* Controlling interviews
* Understanding the production process

The course tutor will be Giles McMullen. Giles is a financial journalist and broadcaster with a great track-record. ITN, SkyNews, BBC, Reuters and the Money Channel are just some of the networks Giles has appeared on. He is also an all-round communicator who has contributed to popular magazines such as ‘Woman’ and ‘Bella’. Giles has media trained the executive boards of some of the UK’s biggest companies, such as Anglian Water and Boots. He has also trained public sector organisations on how to handle the media. Giles has interviewed many very high profile people and brings a wealth of experience to the training day. Giles was also the media spokesperson for a large city spreadbetting company, so he knows what it’s like to interview and be interviewed.
